Xiaomi’s MS11 EV Sedan to Feature 101 kWh Battery, Enabling 800 km of Range

The upcoming Xiaomi MS11 electric sedan is set to offer a long-range version equipped with a 101 kWh ternary (NMC) battery, providing a reported range of 800 km. While this battery offers a substantial range, it’s noted that it is quite heavy, with a weight of 642 kg, leading to an energy density of 157 Wh/kg. Comparatively, the battery used in the Avatr 11 SUV, reportedly from CATL, has a capacity of 90 kWh, weighs 520 kg, and offers an energy density of 180 Wh/kg.

The Xiaomi MS11, also possibly known as “Modena,” is expected to launch in China next year and will reportedly come in three versions. The long-range version is said to feature the 101 kWh battery, offering an estimated range of 800 km for the rear-wheel-drive model and around 600-650 km for the all-wheel-drive version.

The MS11 will also come equipped with a LiDAR sensor and Qualcomm’s 8295 chip. Xiaomi aims to produce cars independently, though it will source some exterior parts from the BAIC Group. The price range for the MS11 is estimated to be between 260,000 and 350,000 yuan (approximately $36,400 to $49,000 USD)
